The Michael Ross Foundation Announces Return of the MRF Golf Tournament The Michael Ross Foundation is pleased to announce some exciting news.  After a one year hiatus, the popular MRF Golf Tournament is back.  “Yes, the golf tournament is returning.  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 15,” said Tony Ross.  “We tried some new ideas last year teaming with Race Fest and hosting the softball game, and I still think that concept can become very successful.  But the best way to explain the return of the foundation’s golf tournament is ‘It’s back by popular demand’.  I can’t tell you how many of our supporters have asked for us to bring it back.  The celebrities, the country club, the racers and even the fairgrounds, they all would like to see it return,” said Ross.     The MRF Golf Tournament had enjoyed an 11 year run will all proceeds benefiting the Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan.  The tournament, auction and celebrity race events had raised nearly $1.2 million dollars in camp donations.  “Our fear was the tournament had run its course and had started to become stale.  But with the amount of interest that has been shown after taking just one year off, we’ve learned how much people missed it.  I’m confident we can put together another great event for the kids,” said Ross.     “We are working on some new ideas to freshen things up a bit.  I am now officially retired so Kathy and I can dedicate a lot more time to all the things that need to happen behind the scenes for the tournament to be a success.  One of the things we’ve wanted to do is update the foundation’s logo, so expect to see a new look on the press releases, MRF literature, event posters and the website,” said Ross.     “We basically wanted to get the word out so the MRF supporters can plan on attending the event.  We are still working to iron out some of the details so stay tuned for news and updates,” said Ross.  For additional information about the Michael Ross Foundation visit the website at www.michaelrossfoundation.com and you can also find us on Facebook.
